“If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day so I never have to live without you.” – A. A. Milne, Winnie the Pooh
Kiri and McLeish’s backyard wedding took place on a hot August Saturday, under the shade of a magnolia tree. They were surrounded by their closest family and friends, whom had mostly travelled from far and wide to share the special occasion with them. Until a week before the wedding, I had only known that Kiri and McLeish were planning their Victoria wedding from abroad, from their home in New Zealand. When I finally met with them both, at Kiri’s parent’s home, their love for each other was glowing and I couldn’t wait to capture it!
Their marriage was officiated by a close family member, and the ceremony included a reading from A. A. Milne’s Winnie the Pooh, which made my heart smile! On our way to the reception at Laurel Point Inn, we stopped at Anderson Hill Park to take some photos with a view of the Olympics Mountains across the straight.
It was such a pleasure to have been a part of their special day, capturing both meaningful and intimate moments. I adored everything, from Kiri’s dress and seasonal bouquet, to their friendly and easygoing attitudes. Feel free to scroll down and snoop through a few photographs from Kiri and McLeish’s wedding day!
