I was thrilled to be asked to photograph Natalie and Roy’s elopement ceremony on Pender Island! There is just something I love about the intimacy and laid back energy of elopements. So on the morning of Saturday September 13th I trotted off to the ferry- equipped with my camera, a book and my bike. The day had started out really foggy and cool, but shortly before I met them at their Poet’s Cove Cabin the mist had cleared.

After several years of companionship, and becoming pregnant with twins, they decided to tie the knot in secret. I immediately  sensed their laid back and kind energy as we made our introductions. Their Golden Retriever, Kia, was both an excellent ring bearer and flower girl during the ceremony, located on a patio overlooking Bedwell Harbour. We spent the next few hours moseying about, having fun taking portraits around the resort.

On my way home, I noticed the fog rolling back towards the island while waiting for my ferry at Otter Bay. When I turned around, I managed to capture the moon, bright in the twilight sky. I wish Natalie and Roy eons of happiness together enjoying the moon! :)

Here’s some photos from our day together! Enjoy.
