Adam contacted me a few months before their planned road trip across Canada from Ontario to Vancouver Island. He was planning on proposing to Salma somewhere along the way and asked that I capture an engagement session for them in Tofino as a newly engaged couple. Obviously, I said yes (and she did, too)!
As a Vancouver Island photographer, I am always so excited when couples come to me from out of province and leave the location choice in my hands! It is truly such an honour to share some of the most beautiful areas of Vancouver Island with visitors and clients alike.
He mentioned that they were going to visit Tofino, so I suggested we go to Wickaninnish Beach, which is probably my favourite beach in that area! It is so expansive that even during a sunset in July, it can feel like we have our very own slice of beach to frolic around on. You can catch glimpses of ravens flying ahead, explore the sand dunes and watch surfers heading into the breaks. With the right conditions, when the mist rolls in off the coast around sunset it creates an atmospheric orange flow. Truly such an incredible spot!
